Reptile surveys were undertaken across four sites on the Leckford Estate in 2025: the Fishery Lakes, Golf Course, Farm and Fairview Bank. A total of 145 refugia were deployed, and 27 surveys were completed between March and September. Surveys recorded three reptile species: slow worm, common lizard and grass snake. Whilst 88 reptile records were collected overall, this figure may include repeat observations of the same individuals. To provide a more representative indication of population size, peak counts recorded during a single survey were used. The Golf Course supported the highest number of slow worms, with 12 individuals recorded in one survey, and was the only site where grass snakes were detected, with a maximum count of two individuals. The highest common lizard counts were recorded at both Fairview Bank and the Farm, where six individuals were observed during a single survey.
